Salvation

How to become a Christian

A. Admit that god has not been first place in your life and ask him to forgive your sins. In other words - repent.

¨       Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD"-- and you forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah Psalm 32:5

¨       “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”  1 John 1:9

B. Believe that Jesus died to pay for your sins and to give us eternal life. That he rose again on Easter, and is alive today.

¨       “That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”  Romans 10:9

¨       "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved--you and your household."  Acts 16:31

Believe that we can not earn Gods free gift of salvation.

¨       “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from

yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast”

     Ephesians 2:8-9

Our relationship to God is not restored by anything we do, but on the basis of what Jesus already did for us!

C. Commit  your life to Jesus Christ and ask him to come into your life and be the director (“lord/boss”) of your life.

¨       “Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. . .”  John 1:12-13

¨       "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.”  Matthew 7:21

If these simple words express the desire of your heart then express them in a prayer to God admitting your sin, and committing your life to him.
